T5 Fluorescent Tube Adapter

T5 fluorescent tubes are an energy efficient alternative for today's lighting. The majority of existing fluorescent lighting is the common T8 tube, and to a lesser extent the older T12 tubes. The cost of changing existing T8 light fittings to accommodate the smaller T5 tubes and their electronic ballast is prohibitive for many organisations, with a likely pay-back period of many years.

T5 fluorescent adapters enable the conversion of existing T8 and T12 lighting fixtures into a more energy efficient T5 fluorescent fitting. T5 adapters are an ideal alternative for smaller installations and applications where larger capacity solutions, such as BMASS Power Saver, are not as economical. Energy savings of around 32% can be realistically expected when compared to older EEI C or D category fixtures and around 22% against newer EEI B2 or B1 fixtures. Larger savings are regularly quoted as typical, up to 45%, but ensure your lighting situation is identical before accepting those figures.

The main features of the T5 Adapter are:

  • supplied complete with T5 tube and integrated electronic ballast, and with or without an integrated reflector
  • instant start with no flickering
  • daylight colour 6500K
  • available in 14W / 21W / 28W and rated at 220 - 240 volts, 50 ~ 60 Hz
  • DIY option without the need for qualified electricians
  • reduced mercury content - T5 use 3mg where T8 use 9-12mg
  • not suitable for single ballast twin tube luminaire
  • EMC compliance - C Tick 12468
  • The T5 adapter provides instant energy savings, reduces CO2 emissions and is easy to install. Simply switch the power off, remove the old T8 tube and starter from the fixture, twist in the T5 adapter unit and tube like you would a normal tube, and switch the power on.
